Catch a fading puppy on day two.
Littermate App weighs every pup from birth, works out the daily gain and flags the ones falling behind. Then it carries the litter the rest of the way: whelping, heat cycles, health records, reminders, waitlist, contracts, go-home day.
And the families keeping your dogs work from the same records, on their phones.
14 days free. No credit card required to get started.
The whole program, not one screen
Purpose-built for the day-to-day of raising a litter, not a spreadsheet bolted onto a CRM.
Catch a fading pup early
Weigh the whole litter in one session, or one pup on the way past. Daily gain is worked out as a percentage of birth weight and traffic-lit against thresholds you set, so a pup that stalls shows up as a colour rather than as a hunch.
Get through whelping night
Log contractions, each pup born, placentas, complications and vet calls as they happen. Then the milestones that follow: eyes open, ears open, first stand, first walk, first solid food, weaned.
Run the breeding cycle
Heat cycles per dam, progesterone readings on a timing chart with the stage called, matings and pregnancy checks with the method recorded, and a due date with the countdown to it.
One record per dog, for life
Registrations and titles, microchip, tattoo, band and ear-notch identifiers, a four-generation pedigree chart, progeny lists, and breeding, placement and health status tracked separately instead of squeezed into one label.
Health you can show a buyer
Vaccinations, deworming, vet visits, treatments and medications in one log. Health screens and clearances with expiry dates. Weights, temperatures and heights in whichever units your kennel actually uses.
Never miss what is due
Health and breeding reminders, each with a lead time you choose, arriving in the app and in your inbox. One deduplicated sweep a day, so a busy week does not turn into a wall of mail.
Waitlist through go-home day
Customers, a waitlist and reservations as lists or pipeline boards, pups assigned to families, payments recorded, contracts with the signed PDF attached, and a go-home checklist that starts from a template.
Find anything, from anywhere
Search everything from one box, and it never returns a record the person searching is not allowed to see. Photo galleries, notes, an activity log, dark mode, and more than one kennel under a single login.
Know what a litter cost you
Expenses by category against the litter that incurred them, payments against the reservation they belong to, and stud services tracked in both directions, whether the dog is yours or visiting.
How a litter actually goes
Nine months of work, in the order you meet it.
-
1
Before the whelp
Record the heat, plot the progesterone readings and let the chart call the stage. Log the matings, then the pregnancy check. The due date and the countdown to it come from the cycle, not from a note on the fridge.
-
2
The first three weeks
Log the birth of each pup as it arrives. Weigh morning and night, watch the gains go green or amber, and get an alert when one falls behind. Milestones and photos go on the same record, from whoever is holding the pup.
-
3
To go-home day
Work the waitlist into reservations, assign pups to families, take deposits, generate and store the signed contract, and run the go-home checklist so nothing is forgotten on the doorstep.
Most breeding software assumes one person and one kennel
Serious programs rarely look like that. Some of your dogs live in other people's homes, and today those homes send you weights over text and photos over social media, which you then copy somewhere. Littermate App is built for that from the start, and it draws a line between two kinds of people.
The people who run it with you
A co-breeder, a kennel manager, an assistant. They work inside the kennel and see it, with permissions set per person for what they may change. These are your staff, and a staff member is what a paid seat is.
The families who keep one of your dogs
A guardian home, a foster, a co-owner: the people a dog actually lives with. Each is invited against one specific animal or litter and sees only that one. They log weigh-ins, milestones, photos and observations from a phone. They never see your other dogs, your customers or your money.
Guardian, foster and co-owner homes are free and unlimited on every plan.
You are never charged for having thirty puppy families. They get a real app instead of a group chat, and you keep one record instead of rebuilding one from screenshots.
Where breeders come in
Your first litters
You are weighing pups on a kitchen scale and writing it in a notebook. Start on the smaller plan, which covers a couple of litters at a time, and keep everything from the first weigh-in onward.
An established program
Several litters on the go, a co-breeder and someone helping in the kennel. Unlimited litters, a seat for each staff member, and a waitlist that turns into reservations, contracts and go-home checklists.
Dogs living in other homes
Half your breeding stock is with guardian families and your data arrives as text messages. Invite each home to its own dog and let the record build itself, at no cost per home.
What it costs
Billed monthly, starting with a 14-day free trial. Guardian, foster and co-owner homes are always free, however many you have.

Guardian and foster homes are free, so they are not staff.
Your records stay yours
A breeding record is a decade of work and a legal document at the same time.
Your own database
Each kennel gets a separate database rather than a shared table with your name in a column. Nobody else's records sit beside yours.
Locked to you
Sign in with two-factor codes or with a passkey. Staff hold only the permissions you give them, and every guardian home is scoped to one animal.
Delete means delete
Fix a typo or remove a record you should not have made. Deletions can be undone if you were too quick, and a delete that would destroy a litter's parentage says so instead of doing it.
Consent, on paper
Consent is recorded per person and per jurisdiction, and a data-processing agreement is there for breeders who are asked for one.
Frequently asked questions
- What does Littermate App do?
- Littermate App runs a breeding program end to end. It starts where the risk is: every puppy weighed from birth, daily gain calculated, and pups that stall or lose weight flagged early. Around that it holds whelping logs and milestones, heat cycles and progesterone timing, matings and pregnancy checks, lifetime health and pedigree records for every animal, reminders for what is due, and the sales side from waitlist through reservations, payments, contracts and go-home day.
- Who is it for?
- Dog and cat breeders, from someone raising their first litter to a program running several at once. It also covers the people around a program: staff who run the business with you, and the guardian, foster and co-owner homes who actually keep some of your dogs.
- Can the family keeping my dog use it?
- Yes, and it is the reason a lot of breeders move. A guardian, foster or co-owner home is invited against one specific animal or litter. They get a phone-sized view of that animal alone, where they can log weigh-ins, milestones, photos and observations. They never see your other dogs, your customers or your money. Those homes are free and unlimited on every plan.
- How much does it cost?
- Every workspace starts with a 14-day free trial and no card. After that there are two plans, both monthly: a smaller one for a breeder running one or two litters at a time, and a full plan with unlimited litters that includes several staff seats and charges a per-seat rate beyond them. Guardian, foster and co-owner homes are free on both. Current amounts are shown in the pricing section on this page.
- Does it work in the whelping box, on a phone?
- That is what it is designed around. Weigh-in sessions, the whelping log and the milestone logger are built for one hand on a phone at 3am, and entries are kept on the device as you go, so backgrounding your phone partway through a session does not lose them. Saving a session still needs a connection.
- Who can see my records?
- Every workspace gets its own separate database rather than a shared table with your name in a column. Inside it, staff hold fine-grained permissions, and guardian and foster homes are scoped to the one animal or litter shared with them. Accounts can be protected with two-factor codes or passkeys.
